“ O AC Milan can confirm that, during the weekend, Alexis Saelemaekers was submitted to additional examinations on her right ankle, the same one that was operated on in 2024 to treat a fracture of the medial malleolus”, they begin by revealing the ‘rossoneri’ in a statement.
Medical examinations revealed that after “the recent injury suffered in training”, the ankle of the Belgian wing “lost stability in the area of previous surgery”.
“ A specialized evaluation is ongoing to define the appropriate treatment”, concludes the statement, without revealing the stopping time.
However, the Gazzetta dello reference sports diary Sport advances that Saelemaekers will not play again in 2026, as it will have to be operated again.
Indisputable at Massimiliano Allegri’s ‘eleven’ last season, in which he started in 33 meetings, the Belgian saw his time of play download with the arrival of Amorim, with the Portuguese technician choosing Saelemaekers as the holder only in two of the five meetings played by AC Milan in the Italian championship.
The Milanese are fifths in Serie A, with 11 points, less than Rome, Inter Milan and Lazio, who share the top of the race.
