A israel’s mission in Iran “has not ended,” Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said today, reiterating his accusations that Tehran would be seeking nuclear weapons, a situation the Islamic Republic denies.
“ Before Iran, the mission has not yet ended (...). Iran is trying to renew its efforts to obtain nuclear weapons,” Katz said during an official ceremony in Jerusalem.
The Israeli minister added that Israel is “prepared for all scenarios” and ready to “act as much as is necessary to protect” its citizens.
The United States and Israel launched a military offensive, including bombing, against Iran in late February. The attacks caused the death of Iranian supreme leader Ali Khamenei, among other important figures of the Iranian regime.
The Lebanese Shiite group Hezbollah and the Yemeni Huthis rebels, both pro-Iran, expanded the regional conflict by attacking Israel and the United States' allied countries in the Middle East, such as Saudi Arabia.
The peace talks between the US and Iran remain at a great standstill, despite the efforts of mediating countries such as Qatar.
