A Ceuta National Police began this morning an operation in the provisional Migrant Camp of the Muelle de Poniente to transfer people to other places and decommission them.
Police sources informed the Spanish news agency EFE that this morning dozens of agents from various National Police units attended this camp to initiate a special operation of people's transfer.
The objective is for migrants inside to be transferred to El Tarajal Temporary Foreign Service (CATE) Centre to identify them and subsequently to be accommodated in other temporary centres provided by the Government.
This action takes place after this same week the Spanish Minister of Territorial Policy, Ángel Víctor Torres, warned that in the coming days the dismantling of some of the temporary centers opened for the reception of those people would begin.
Those camps are eligible for more than 7,000 vacancies, and 5,800 people are registered.
The government has up to seven locations at different points in the city, so the intention is to regroup migrants in some of them to allow dislodge and dismantle those who have little occupation.
