“ ANDin response to the Kyiv regime’s attacks on civilian targets in Russian territory, the Russian armed forces will continue and intensify their attacks with high-precision weapons against military targets in Kyiv,” he said, accusing Ukraine of having wanted “to frustrate the democratic expression of the will of Russian citizens.”.
Russia was the target of an attack by more than a thousand Ukrainian drones and computer attacks, hitting a refinery and residential areas and causing fires, aimed at disrupting the last day of the legislative elections, which, without surprise, will give the victory of Vladimir Putin's party, the current President.
At least two people died and about 20 were injured, according to the Russian authorities.
Moscow City Mayor Sergei Sobianin reported that more than 450 drones were shot down in the largest attack on the Russian capital since the beginning of the war.
For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky ensured that Kyiv had attacked key facilities in the Russian oil industry and a logistics centre, which, he said, represents billions less for the Kremlin war machine.
The Russian legislative elections, the first since the start of the large-scale military offensive against Ukraine in 2022, aim to renew the 450 seats of the Duma, the lower chamber of the Russian Parliament, and also take place in the territories of Ukraine occupied and annexed by Russia.
