Hfor well over a decade in SportTV's possession, motoGP's television broadcasts to Portugal switch from channel to DAZN next year. It also ensured the exclusiveness of the Superbike World Cup, where Miguel Oliveira competes.

The announcement appeared this Thursday (16 July), with the Japanese broadcaster to guarantee exclusive rights by 2031. It is the first time that it will broadcast the maximum category of motorcycle racing in Portugal, although it has already done so for some years in other countries – including Spain.

On the other hand, the Superbike World Cup remains in DAZN's portfolio. The championship, where Portuguese Miguel Oliveira runs, will become exclusive to the station in the next five seasons (2027 to 2031).

It should be noted that the bet on motor sport is strong: includes the rights of Formula 1 and its promotion categories (Formula 2 and Formula 3), such as Formula And the DTM.

In Formula 1, as well as in MotoGP and the Superbike World Cup, the calendars include a passage through the Algarve International Race Course in Portimão in 2027 – and Superbike have also had a round in Estoril.

DAZN Portugal management director João Diogo Ferreira commented: “From 2027, we made available, in a single subscription, the two largest motor competitions worldwide: MotoGP and Formula 1, positioning DAZN as the engine house in Portugal. To this we add the total exclusivity of WorldSBK [...]. We are very excited about this step, also for the role that Portugal will play in the calendars of these competitions in the coming years”.
