“ Awe propose that these mechanisms be swift and effective. So that the works that are in execution can continue and so that the municipalities that decided to move forward, that had this boldness to advance, do not be harmed ", said the president of ANMP, Pedro Pimpão.

At the end of a meeting of ANMP's board of directors, Pedro Pimpão stated that this is the appropriate time to determine which projects and investments remained to be completed until 31 August and that they still lack funding.

“The state budget is now being prepared for next year. What we are calling for, and I believe it is also being done, is the clearance of those who are the investments that need this financial supplement,” he added.

To the agency Lusa, the mayor admitted that “there is adjacent concern with some investments and works”, particularly in the area of education and health, as well as investments in the area of social action, although not directly related to the municipalities.

“ Of course, there is a commitment on the part of the government to find coordination mechanisms for these works to continue and for these investments to be used to the full, because we are talking again about investments in which the municipalities have replaced themselves with the central administration to carry out these first investments.”.

On this occasion, the mayor of Pombal also took the opportunity to welcome the legislative mechanisms that have been set up for the transition of investments.

“ We are talking about investments that can move to Portugal 2030 or that can also be integrated into the State Budget for the coming year,” he said.

Pedro Pimpão also said that there is a commitment from the government that the transition mechanisms will be swift.

“ Of course, we note this with pleasure and with the willingness that we must continue to play an active role in public investment at national level,” he said.

He also welcomed the fact that “the country was able to achieve the milestones and targets it had proposed” within the framework of the RRP.

“ In this regard, I would also like to highlight what was the role that the Portuguese municipalities had over these years in order for the country to achieve this desiderate of improving the lives of our communities ", concluded.
