O israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has today ensured that Israel's military occupation in the West Bank will continue and that thousands of Palestinians expelled from refugee camps such as Tulkarem since 2025 will not be able to return either.
“The force that will control this territory and remain here is Israel’s Defense Forces. There will be no Arab army here west of the Jordan River; Israel’s Defense Forces will be,” he said in a video message at the entrance of the urban refugee camp in Tulkarem in the occupied West Bank.
From this historic refugee camp, Israeli troops expelled some 21,000 Palestinians, in addition to destroying hundreds of dwellings, a process they repeated in the Nur Shams camp, today a ghost village despite having had about 13,000 inhabitants, and Jenin's with another 20,000, according to estimates from the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees (UNRWA).
“ We're minutes from Netanya, minutes off the coast. The narrow border of Israel will no longer be so narrow. We're protecting the territory from Jordan to the sea. Our state, our control,” the Prime Minister added.
In addition, Benjamin Netanyahu warned that the Israeli Army presented him and his Defense Minister, Israel Katz, a “solid and effective plan” if the security forces of the Palestinian National Authority (PNA), as the two politicians have insinuated in recent days, confront the Israelis.
“In fact, there are warnings, of course. Our enemies are considering testing us during these days before the elections. I warn you that we are prepared for any scenario, including what is known as an ‘increase of violence’ [a scenario in which security forces turn against the State],” he said.
Already on October 6, Katz gave orders to the Army to raise its alert level on a “possible war scenario” against the ANP in the occupied West Bank if Palestinian Authority forces decide to act against Israeli troops or settlers.
