O Tesla Semi was long awaited in Europe and finally reached the Old Continent. It is a truck that can carry up to 40 tons of cargo, with three independent electric motors on the rear axles, with power above 1,000 hp.
The presentation took place at IAA Transportation in Hanover (Germany). The model, released four years ago in the United States, also received a facelift.
Despite the presentation now, deliveries are not expected to begin until next year.
We found one futuristic design truck which can carry up to 40 tonnes and has an empty weight of 9,100 kg, numbers that do not prevent it from having autonomy to about 550 km (estimated consumption of 1 kWh per kilometre).
Charging in half an hour?

In a Megacharger of up to 800 kW, it can regain about 60 percent of autonomy in half an hour. But in a 120 kWh charger (Basecharger), this process takes about four hours.
On board, the driving position is central and there is no conventional instrument panel – being replaced by two screens, one on each side of the driver. The seat is heated and ventilated and the cabin enjoys sound insulation measures.
If autonomy falls below the 700 km of a rival like the Volvo FH Electric Extended Range, the cargo capacity is five tons higher than in this Swedish model. The Semi only has a traction configuration (6×4), while the Volvo has more than one (4×2, 6×4 and 8×4).
