O water corridor has more options than you can imagine. You think all the waters are the same? You've got the with and without gas. Then the labels themselves differ in composition. But as for the sparkling waters, are they all the same? Are there differences between you? A nutritionist clarifies.

Iara Rodrigues is a nutritionist and in his Instagram account gave some of the points that should clarify about the waters with gas.

Are all the sparkling waters the same?

“ The sparkling water creates some doubts, but is it so different from natural water? From mineral composition to digestion, there are some details worth knowing to make informed choices” starts with the expert.

Then it clarifies and reveals that this type of water may have some differences. “Not all sparkling waters are the same. Some are naturally gasocarbonic, while others receive carbon dioxide during the bottling process.”

Does this difference change everything? “Attention: the origin of the gas does not in itself determine the water quality. What matters is its mineral composition.” So it reveals that it is the composition and the values on the label that say a lot about the water you are buying.

“The label counts more than you know. Sodium, calcium, magnesium and bicarbonates may vary significantly between water. Some are naturally richer in certain minerals, while others have a very reduced mineralization.”

Are there any benefits to drinking sparkling water?

Thus, it is always important to realize what you need and what water can be most beneficial to you. This kind of water may not be ideal for everyone. “Blisters may not be for everyone. Gas can temporarily increase the sensation of abdominal distension and cause burping.”

Finally, it points out some benefits, such as the fact that they manage to be an alternative to another type of drinks that end up being more calorie and bring disadvantages to the organism.

“It can be a good alternative to soft drinks. The water with simple gas, without added sugars or sweeteners, allows to vary hydration without adding these ingredients to the food,” continues Iara Rodrigues in his Instagram account.

Why does sparkling water help digestion?

gas water is actually carbonic acid water, which may have been added artificially or under pressure, or may be naturally present in the drink as some springs produce this type of water.

As the nutritionist Elisa Blázque explains to abc, this is due to its carbonic acid content that is added to pH and gastric acid and that increases the secretion of gastric juices. It is thus a drink that helps to better digest food proteins.

The expert advises making mixtures of gas water with natural ingredients such as fresh fruit so that we can create drinks with an interesting nutritional content, with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.
