Oskar Pietuszewski is not even signing the best start of the 2026/27 sports season, because of a sequence of physical problems that have prevented him from acquiring another type of preponderance in the plans of Italian coach Francesco Farioli for FC Porto.

After the accounts, the Polish international participated in only six of the 16 games played by the national champions in title, so far, with a goal (the victory over the Maritime, in the Stadium of Barreiros, by 1-2). Still, he will have done enough to attract the attention of the ‘all-powerful’ Bayern Munich.

The news was originally released by Florian Plettenberg, journalist specializing in issues related to the transfer market of the German television station Sky Sport, who pointed the only 18-year-old player as one of the strongest candidates to play the role of alternative to...

The Colombian, who lined up as a dragon to the chest between 2019 and 2022, is one of the most used players by the Belgian helmsman Vincent Kompany, at the present time, but suffered a muscle rupture, in the middle of the week, in the tie to two balls with the Arsenal, for the Champions League, which should take him away from the lawns for several weeks.

Given the shortage of players for the attack wings, the Bavarians will have referred to the young blue and white promise as a name to be taken into account, already for the next winter defense, that is, precisely a year after it was acquired from Jagiellonia Bialystok, in an operation that may still amount to EUR 10 million.

Is it really at the time of Oskar Pietuszewski’s ‘jumping off’ to another type of competitive level? Or is FC Porto able to present enough sporting and financial arguments to convince him to ignore Bayern Munich’s ‘call’? O Sports to Minute analyze the pros and cons of this rumor.

Why can it happen?

If there is a club with ‘financial muscle’ to meet the requirements that FC Porto’s management would stipulate for such an operation, it is Bayern Munich, which still last summer invested more than 100 million euros in the acquisitions of Ismael Saberi, Nathaniel Brown, Bara Sapoko Ndiaye and Noel Aséko.

In addition, Vincent Kompany has always demonstrated a particular aptitude for the bet on young talents, such as Aleksander Pavlovic, Tom Bischof or Lennart Karl, who, despite being all under 22 years of age, have been consecutive bets in the initial eleven.

Finally, it must be borne in mind that, now André Villas-Boas, or Francesco Farioli, have stressed that sports success (yet) has not resulted in a clear improvement in the financial landscape of the club, so it would always be complicated to ‘close your eyes’ to an eventual tempting proposal by the Bavarians.

Why can't it happen?

Indeed, FC Porto has ‘the knife and cheese’ in its hand, since it renewed a contract with Oskar Pietuszewski at the end of May, until June 2029, ‘armored it’ with a termination clause of EUR 60 million, which will hardly be activated, even further, in a market as particular as January.

The Polish international itself knows that, at Allianz Arena, it would hardly be as open a path for the initial eleven as it is for FC Porto, so, if the transfer was confirmed, it would be a kind of ‘shot in the dark’ at the level of opportunities to which it would be entitled to put into practice the qualities recognized.

A good example of this is the case of Renato Sanches, which was sold by Benfica precisely to Bayern Munich in 2016 for EUR 35 million (plus EUR 45 million). The then ‘diamante’ was not able to be ‘cut off’, and did not meet the potential that was opened to him, in such a way that he is now unemployed.

Every week Sports to Minute presents a new edition of the heading ‘The rumor of the week’, which aims to analyze, in detail, the circumstances surrounding the most popular business in the transfer market.
