A National Confederation of Agriculture (CNA) said today that the proposal for a State Budget for 2027 (OE2027) does not provide for a strengthening of the funds allocated to the sector and required concrete and appropriate responses.
“The state budget proposal for 2027 does not foresee a real strengthening of the funds for agriculture, either to respond to the crisis or to improve the ministry’s own capacity for intervention,” the CNA said.
He pointed out that the proposal has a cut of 67% of the funds to support the reduction of fuel load through grazing.
The CNA stressed that this decrease calls into question the installation of new pastors and support for grazing in wasteland.
In this sense, the confederation warned that the reality “is very different from what the Minister of Agriculture is trying to convey”.
Farmers thus demand that the ministry under José Manuel Fernandes proceed with “concrete and appropriate” answers to farmers’ needs
“ Less propaganda is required, fewer blockades and the end of police identifications of those who give voice to family agriculture ", finished.
On 8 October, the government delivered the proposal for a State Budget for 2027 (OE2027) before the deadline laid down by law.
The budget proposal foresees an economic growth of 2.3% this year and 2.1% in 2027 and balanced accounts this year and a surplus of 0.1% in 2027.
This will be discussed and voted on in general between October 27 and 28. The overall final vote is scheduled for November 24, after the discussion process in the specialty.
