Parliament will generally discuss the state budget proposal for 2027 on 27 and 28 October, with the overall final vote scheduled for 24 November.

This timetable, proposed by the Government to the Budget and Finance Committee, was approved today at a conference of parliamentary leaders.
By law, the proposal for a Government State Budget must formally enter the Assembly of the Republic by 10 October. But this year, being October 10th a Saturday, the deadline extends until October 12th, the following Monday.
According to the calendar that came out of the Budget and Finance Committee, the first meeting will be a hearing with the Minister of State and Finance, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento on 23 October. The following is the Minister of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security on October 26.
After the general debate, the Budget proposal will be discussed in the specialty between October 29 and November 24. The deadline for the entry of amendments by the different parties ends November 6.
A new hearing with the Minister of State and Finance is scheduled for November 6.
The overall final vote on the budget proposal for 2027 will take place on the evocative formal sitting of 25 November 1975.
