Othe parties delivered more than 2,800 proposals to amend the State Budget for 2027 (OE2027).
According to Parliament's website, 2,864 amendments have been tabled. The Enough, with 712 proposals, and the PCP, with 653, were the parties that presented the most changes to the OE2027.
This is a new record, after a maximum of amendments to the budget document were reached last year, when the parties went ahead with 2,176 amendments.
Of the total number of amendments submitted, 84 are from PSD/CDS-PP, 712 from Aquida, 200 from the PS, 51 from the Liberal Initiative, 504 from the Free Initiative, 653 from the PCP, 368 from the BE, 125 from the PAN and 167 from the JPP.
The deadline for tabling amendments was 18:00 on Friday or until 30 minutes after the end of the hearing with the Minister of Finance, the latter having prevailed this year. By 18:15 Friday, only 2,502 amendments to the OE2027 were submitted, i.e. 362 less than the total.
In other years the deadline was extended, coinciding with the final hearing of the Minister responsible for the finance portfolio.
At the Friday hearing, in the specialty, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento warned that “it is difficult to accommodate tax proposals that lead to an imbalance of accounts”.
The ruler had already warned that the margin to adopt more measures is limited, taking into account the forecast of a balanced balance this year and a surplus of 0.1% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2027.
