A environment and Energy has about EUR 2,200 million for the coming year, less 3.2% than last year, due to the effect of the PRR, according to the proposed State Budget.

 

In the proposal from the State Budget for 2027 (OE2027), today presented, there is a total consolidated expenditure allocation of EUR 2,265.2 million.

However, excluding the effect of expenditure on the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), the total consolidated expenditure allocation amounts to EUR 1.751.5 million, representing an increase of 15.4% compared to the estimate for 2026, reads in the document.

In actual consolidated expenditure, the figure is EUR 2,235,2 million.

Excluded from the effect of expenditure on RRP, the consolidated actual expenditure allocation amounts to €1.721.5 million, exceeding the estimate for 2026 without RRP by 17.3%.

The total consolidated revenue for 2027 is EUR 2,285.2 million.

In the OE2027, the Government highlights from the consolidated total revenue current transfers (EUR 660.5 million), of which EUR 503.6 million related to the Environmental Fund, and the sales of current goods and services (EUR 594.7 million), of which EUR 505.8 million collected by the Environmental Fund in the context of the auctions of greenhouse gas emission allowances (GEEs), carried out in the context of the European Trade in Emissions Licences (ECLE).

“ Expurging the amounts for the PRR, the revenue for current transfers amounts to EUR 146,8 million”, reads in the document.

For the consolidated total expenditure allocation (EUR 2.265,2 million) current transfers of EUR 1.720,7 million contribute in particular. Of this amount, it highlights transfers from the Environmental Fund (EUR 1.626,6 million), with emphasis on those made under the RRP (EUR 482.9 million) and the Incentive +TP Programme.

The Government today handed over to the Assembly of the Republic the proposal for a State Budget for 2027, before the deadline laid down by law.

The budget proposal foresees an economic growth of 2.3% this year and 2.1% in 2027 and balanced accounts this year and a surplus of 0.1% in 2027.

The proposal will be discussed and voted on in general between 27 and 28 October. The overall final vote is scheduled for November 24, after the discussion process in the specialty.
