“ O new agreement reflects our shared belief in the progress we had and that the success of the last season is the beginning of a special period in our history”, reads in the statement of the ‘gunners’.
Artite, 44 years old, arrived at Arsenal during the 2019/20 season, after being a deputy to fellow countryman Pep Guardiola in Manchester City, winning an English League, a Cup of England and three Super Cups, and having reached the Champions League final last season, losing to Paris Saint-Germain.
“It is a privilege to commit my future to the club and continue to work with exceptional people who want the best for Arsenal. This club is unique, its character and the way it makes you feel, and I have a great sense of privilege to know that our journey together will continue”, said Arteta.
The Basque, who has the best percentage of victory in Arsenal history, assumes that he has already built “a special link” and created “memory that will last a lifetime”, but that he has only lived “the beginning” of what he can achieve in the London club.
This season, Arsenal has already won the English Super Cup and is second in the Premier League, three points away from Manchester City.
The former average had already spent in Arsenal as a player for four and a half seasons, finishing his career in the service of the gunners in 2015/16, after having already passed Paris Saint-Germain, Rangers, Real Sociedad and Everton, after having been part of his training at FC Barcelona.
