Remember that, in statements to the agency Lusa, the meteorologist of the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere Maria João Frada said that on Tuesday and Wednesday a gradual rise in temperatures is planned, especially the maximum, which will be above the average for the time of the year.
“ With the rise of temperature, we will have maximums that will vary between 24/25 and 30 degrees and in some places in the interior of Alentejo and Vale do Tejo superior between 31/33/34 degrees”he did.
“ This episode where maximum temperatures are above average for this time of year is contributing to a heat wave in most IPMA stations, mainly from day 13 [Tuesday]”, indicated.
According to Maria João Frada, the exception will be the Coast Strip or the coast north of Cabo da Roca or Cabo Carvoeiro because in these places it is likely that there is a lot of low nebulosity, fog or fog, which may persist throughout the day.
In these places, especially if there is persistence of fogs or fogs, there will be no rise, according to the meteorologist, and the maximum temperature should vary between 20 and 22 degrees and not exceed these values.
In relation to the minimum temperatures, Maria João Frada said that they will be relatively low with fresh air in the evening and morning, ranging from 10 to 14 degrees, being slightly higher (15.16.17 degrees) on the southern coast of the Algarve.
“ This scenario continues throughout the week and probably from Friday or Saturday, we will have a decision of the maximum, eventually with instability with occurrence of showers and thunder, but still a little. We have to assess whether this scenario is going to happen,” he said.
