O Opel Frontera becomes more accessible with a new entry level now announced. It's the Opel Frontera Start, which proposes this SUV with various motorizations.

It is available with the new engine three cylinders gasoline 1.2 liters turbocharged with 100 hp of power, coupled to a six-speed manual box, spending six liters per 100 kilometres. The maximum speed is 175 km/h. But the options don't stick around.

There's an electric hybrid version with 110 cv, in which the six-speed and double clutch box is electrified, with consumptions of 5.2 liters/100 km, with speed reaching 176 km/h.

Frontera Electric Start is the new entry level with 100 percent electric motorization (113 hp and 43 kWh battery for up to 305 km of autonomy (is rechargeable from 20 to 80 percent in 26 minutes in ideal conditions). He's at a maximum of 60 miles an hour.

Inside, there are Intelli-seat seats adjustable on six tracks, manual air conditioning, as well as diverse features – including a 10-inch central touch screen and smartphone integration, as well as wireless charger.

The trunk is 460 liters, expandable to 1,600 liters with the rear seats hit. There are driving aids from the lane exit warning to rear parking support.

The Opel Frontera Start has no substantial differences in design, which maintains its robustness. The covers of the rear-view mirrors and bumpers appear in black. The rims are steel, 16-inch, with new black lids.

Price and availability

The Opel Frontera Start has not yet appeared in the official configuration in Portugal, nor has any statement been issued, so no information on the arrival on the national market.

In Germany, this new entry proposal comes from EUR 21,990, a price reduction of EUR 2,750. The electric hybrid comes for 24,540 euros and Frontera Start Electric is proposed for 29,340 euros in that country.
