ANDit's almost here the new Bentley Torcal. The first 100 percent electric model of the British luxury brand will be revealed in next wednesday (september 23)with one particularity.
How manufacture is manual, in a way each car will be unique in a process that will combine “the traditional with new cutting-edge techniques to establish new quality standards“.
Production takes place on a new assembly line in Crewe, the target of a renovation – which included, for example, the levelling of the floor to receive autonomous guided vehicles that will move the cars in production. The construction of this line includes an investment of over GBP 350 million, of which Torcal itself is also part.
This model is also one of the first created in the design studio opened in 2025 in a 1938 building that was renovated. It's announced as the most innovative Bentley to date.
From a technical standpoint, will be the Bentley with the fastest acceleration from a scenario in which it is completely immobilized.
This is an urban SUV based on the Premium Platform Electric platform (PPE), with two engines and full traction. The power is 850 hp, while autonomy can reach 595 km thanks to a 113 kWh battery – reported the publication Autocar a few weeks ago.
Despite being electric, it will have sound – the Bentley Dynamic Symphony, created by musicians of global fame and with real instruments such as batteries, viola and bass. It is not the imitation of the noise of a combustion engine, but a sound that tries to appeal to the same emotions that it generates. And there's a direct response to the driver's actions.
It is known that Bentley Torcal will have premium materials, such as the unprecedented debut of Merino wool inside an automobile and veneer coating Work with leftover walnut wood and recycled paper. There will also be a new technical finish in Sunburst aluminum.
