ANDat the end of the formal session in Praça do Município in Lisbon, the Vice-President of the Social Democratic bench Alexandre Poço highlighted the appeal made by the Head of State to the spirit of ambition in the country, together with the need for political stability.

“ Also something with which the PSD sees itself a lot, which is the dimension of dialogue. I give very concrete examples: last week, for example, we had the PS announce that it will abstain in the vote on the State Budget for next year; on the other hand, on a very important sectorial matter, in the lease, it was possible an understanding with the Enough for its feasibility ", said.

Faced with the challenge of the PS so that the PSD will end this agreement with the Enough to review the lease law, Alexandre Poço countered that this position of the socialist Secretary-General, José Luís Carneiro, is contradictory to the content of the speech today delivered by the head of state.

“The PSD will continue to negotiate with parties that are at every moment available to approve, discuss and improve government proposals. We're not going to play this game now, we're not going to talk to this one, and we're not going to get into the logic of, in order to approve with that party, we have to give up the other party. It would be the opposite of the words of the President of the Republic,” said the Social Democratic leader.

Alexandre He stressed that, in his speech, António José Seguro “just told the country, but also the political parties, that it is important that they leave our trenches and that there is the ability to talk to each other”.

“ We have tried to have that line, because we do not have an absolute majority in Parliament, but rather a relative majority, which means that there is always this ability to talk to other parties”, he said.

Alexandre Well then defended the government's proposal to revise the rent law, classifying it as moderate in terms of solution between tenants and owners.

“ When the government moved forward with the lease proposal, we heard the tenants' representatives say the government is going too far and then we heard the owners' representatives say the proposal falls short. In other words, we have managed to make a proposal that seeks to highlight the best for both of them, not yet being able to guard the interests in particular of each one, because we want a proposal that serves the rental market as a whole”, defended the Vice-President of the PSD Parliamentary Group.

Alexandre Poço left another message for the ER.

“ We can't play a blackmail game with each other, like if you talk to that one, then I can't approve of this. The Portuguese do not deserve this kind of opportunism by the political parties”, he added.
