O russian presidential adviser Yuri Ushakov today proposed to resume negotiations with Ukraine and the United States after November 4, National Unity Day, indicating Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates to be the headquarters of contacts.
“ At this moment, the next important date is November 4th, our great festival. After that, we will be willing to resume negotiations,” Ushakov said in statements to Russian public television RTR, admitting that these trilateral talks can be a “test” because “we cannot decide much at the first meeting.”.
Ushakov himself had previously advanced that Abu Dhabi could host a meeting with Ukraine and the United States in mid-November.
The spokesperson for the Kremlin, Dimitri Peskov, also mentioned the capital of the United Arab Emirates as a possible place of realization. Moscow has expressed its readiness to include the European Union if it is 'a sincere desire to facilitate a peaceful agreement'.
Russia, Ukraine and the United States already met in trilateral format on 23 and 24 January, 4 and 5 February and 17 and 18 February. A new meeting was scheduled on 5 and 8 March in the Emirates, but it was postponed following the United States attack on Iran.
