A next week should bring mixed fuel price behaviour. O gas oil should be 4,5 cents next week, while gasoline will be 1.5 cents cheaper, released this Friday the Automobile Club of Portugal (ACP).
“ If forecasts are confirmed for next week, the average price of diesel will increase to 2,189 euros per litre and gasoline will drop to 2,10 euros per litre,” says the ACP, in a note published on its website.
This is at a time when, according to the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG), the average price of the litre of gas oil costs EUR 2,144 and the average price of petrol amounts to EUR 2,116.
“ This forecast consists of average values based on raw material prices at the closing of last Thursday's markets. In other words, if there are fluctuations in the prices of crude and fuels by the end of Friday, there may be some price variation from the expected ", stresses the ACP.
More: “You can also find fuel stations with different price variations, since this sector, and consequently its pricing policy, is liberalised.”.
Montenegro accuses US of inconsistency with Russia’s agreement on diesel
On Thursday, the Prime Minister accused the United States of incoherence in making an agreement on diesel oil with Russia and said that it will have “no positive consequence” at the level of prices or war in Ukraine.
“ What has been announced by the United States, in our view, does not correspond to a consistent and consistent exercise in the resolution of this issue,” Luis Montenegro criticised in statements to journalists on the arrival at the summit of the Heads of State and Government of the European Union (EU) in Brussels.
For the chief executive, the agreement between the United States and Russia on diesel “does not correspond to a consistent and consistent exercise” to respond to the rise in energy prices.
“ Firstly, it is not consistent because it is agreed that the proposed agreement, established with the Russian Federation, will not solve the problem of fuel prices and even the availability that this agreement allows in terms of diesel does not solve the issue for more than a few days,” he said.
On the other hand, Montenegro considered that the agreement is not consistent “because it gives a wrong signal regarding the support of Russia’s aggression towards Ukraine”.
“ This novelty has no positive consequences and is an incoherent sign of what we must do to pressure Russia to contribute to achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine,” he said.
Asked if he agrees with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, when speaking of a betrayal of Donald Trump, the Prime Minister refused to “scale the language”.
“ Let me just say that I have made an appeal: (...) we need an intervention that is, from a diplomatic point of view, effective in sustaining this increase in fuel prices, which is absurd, is foolish, affects everyone ", reiterated.

“ I will just say that I have made an appeal: (...) we need an intervention that is, from a diplomatic point of view, effective in sustaining this increase in fuel prices, which is absurd, is foolish, affects everyone”, he reiterated.
Asked what it believes the EU should do immediately to reduce the price of fuel, Montenegro argued that a “diplomatic intervention, also of the EU” is needed to achieve a way out of the war in Iran.
