Uthe attack with dozens of Ukrainian drones caused a fire at an oil terminal in St Petersburg and targeted a data center on the outskirts of the city, announced today the local authorities and a company involved.

In total, throughout the night, the Russian anti-aircraft defense shot down 126 drones in the Leningrad region, which surrounds the northwest city, regional governor Alexandre Drozdenko said on the Telegram message platform.

In the city, the Ukrainian attack caused fires in “civil infrastructure” of three neighborhoods, as well as “in the territory of the St. Petersburg oil terminal”, needed the city governor, Alexandre Beglov.

“ For security reasons, the activity of Pulkovo airport was restricted,” he added, ensuring that no victims were registered.

The Russian social network VK reported a drone attack on a data center in the Leningrad region, ensuring that the services it offers continued to function normally.

On the shores of the Baltic Sea, St Petersburg and the region are home to important oil infrastructures essential to the trade in hydrocarbons, a sector particularly targeted by Ukraine in recent months, in retaliation for Russian bombings.

In June, the St. Petersburg oil terminal had already been attacked by Ukrainian drones on the opening day of an economic forum that brought together numerous Russian and foreign officials.

In addition, since the beginning of October the Kiev army has attacked several data centers, belonging in particular to the technological giant Yandex.

American President Donald Trump urged Kiev to cease attacks on Russian refineries which, he said, contribute to the rise in oil and fuel prices in the bombs.

Last Sunday, Trump unilaterally announced an energy truce between Moscow and Kiev. But after suspending operations for a few days, Ukraine announced on Thursday that it would resume attacks on refineries, accusing Russia of never stopping the offensives.

Donald Trump classified this recovery as a shame, stating at the time that it was “harder” to work with Volodymyr Zelensky than with Vladimir Putin.
