Oconstraint in the SNS computer system, which prevented doctors from passing prescriptions and consulting clinical processes, began to be resolved, with some operating at 12:00, according to the Shared Services of the Ministry of Health (SPMS).
In response to the Lusa agency, SPMS explained that the constraints have been recorded since about 10:00 today due to problems in the entity’s ‘data center’.
“The problem was identified immediately and the technical teams are working for the rapid replacement of services and support systems to the SNS” and, “for the 12 hours, some computer systems to support health centers and hospitals were restored,” they stress.
The entity that manages SNS support services and information technologies also thanks “the collaboration and understanding of professionals and users”.
The failure of the computer system was denounced to Lusa by the National Federation of Doctors (Fnam), which warned of the unavailability of the Medical Electronic Prescription (PEM) and the Electronic Health Register (RSE) in several local health units (ULS).
In statements to the agency Lusa, the vice president of Fnam, Joana Bordalo and Sá, stated that doctors were unable to pass prescriptions and consult the electronic processes of patients.
“ This limits our medical act, it is an insecurity in the consultations we are doing, besides delaying all our work ", said, giving his own example: “I’m in consultation right now and I’m all behind because I’m not being able to pass on the prescriptions that my patients need.”.
He regretted that users are the most affected, especially those who have a consultation at a health centre or hospital today.
