O Superbike World Championship it's almost back. The round of Magny-Cours is already next weekend (4 to 6 september), after almost two months of summer break.
Miguel Oliveira returns to the tracks in the French circuit, which is a novelty to you – at MotoGP, where you were until last year, the GP of France is held at the Bugatti de Le Mans Circuit.
In what's your opening season at Superbike, bMW's Portuguese currently occupies the tenth position of the championship. The Donington Stage Park before the interregno did not run in his face, having not been able to go beyond an 11th place as the best result – far away from the podiums he has shown to be able to compete this year.
There may be already champion
The leadership of the World is firmly in the hands of Nicolò Bulega. The Italian from Ducati has only lost one race so far – to the teammate Iker Lecuona, who is second with 133 points less.
The advantage is such that Nicolò Bulega can become champion already on Sunday: to do so, you will have to leave Magny-Cours with a 186 point advance – which is mathematically possible, although difficult, since if Iker Lecuona stays in the top six of one of the main races the title will remain open. And Spanish has only failed the top six on three occasions so far.
Third is Yari Montella (Barni/Ducati), 147 points from the rival immediately ahead and no mathematical chance of catching Nicolò Bulega. Alex Lowes (Bimota by KRT) is the best not Ducati in fourth to 29 top three points.
