O value recorded at the end of july compares with the eur 320.035 million in debt securities issued by resident entities one year earlier.

In view of June, EUR 9,108 million is less, in a variation to which the general government contributed, in particular — whose deduced depreciation emissions were negative by EUR 8,761 million.

On the other hand, the financial sector and non-financial companies have seen emissions exceed depreciations by 2,208 and 206 million euros respectively.

In the first month of the second half of this year debt securities issued by general government fell by some EUR 2,800 million.

This devaluation was, according to the BdP, the “second largest devaluation in the last 12 months, reflecting the context of rising interest rates”.

In the month under review, general government also paid around EUR 400 million in coupons and EUR 400 million in accrued interest.

By the end of July, debt securities issued by general government totalled EUR 190,414 million, minus EUR 1,600 million in homologous terms and EUR 11,654 million less than in June.

The BdP also states that the net write-offs accumulated in the year corresponded to EUR 10,456 million, minus 35.3% that in the same period last year and the lowest value since 2023.

The ESG debt securities issued by resident entities totalled EUR 14.8 billion, equivalent to 4.4% of the total debt stock at the end of July.

As regards the stock of quoted shares issued by resident entities, it reached EUR 80,618 million in July, plus EUR 914 million than at the end of the previous month.

“ This growth was mainly due to the valuation of EUR 0,5 billion of the listed shares of non-financial companies and the valuation of EUR 0.4 billion of the listed shares of the financial sector”, the BdP details.

At the end of July, amortisations of debt securities worth around EUR 48 billion were expected for the following 12 months, “the equivalent of 13.9% of the stock of live securities (nominal value) on that date”.

Among the outstanding depreciations were €5,486 million among the debt securities of non-financial corporations this month and, among the general government, the depreciations of €7,840 million in April next year.
