O Torreense took, at the end of the morning of Wednesday, a potentially decisive step towards the discharge for the eighth finals of the Women's Europe Cup, by taking the best on FC Kharkiv, by 1-2, at the meeting of the first hand of the second elimination, which took place at Stadionul Zimbru 2, in Chisinau, Moldova, on account of the invasion by the Russian military forces to Ukraine.

In what was a first part guided by balance, luck ended up babbling the team oriented by Gonçalo Nunes, who inaugurated the marker at the passage of 37 minutes, when, after a first shot to the pole, Catarina Pereira ‘fired’ crossed, for a slight deviation of Jennie Lakip, which turned out to be fundamental to fool Daryna Bondarchuk.

The goal of tranquillity would emerge at the very first moments of the second half, once again, through Jennie Lakip, recently recruited from Valadares Gaia, who, this time, took advantage of an in-depth pass by Nuria Mendonza to isolate herself before the opposing goalkeeper, who again hit now with a shot ‘picked’. The ‘married’ reaction reached 78 minutes, by Elizaveta Molodiuk.

‘Tire-teimes’ will be in Portugal

Torreense and FC Kharkiv have another meeting scheduled, for 20h00 (hour of Continental Portugal) next Wednesday, this time, in the Manuel Marques Stadium, in Torres Vedras, where it will be decided, once and for all, who will move on. The Ukrainians will have a ‘clean’ week to prepare this clash, since the reception to Polissya has been postponed, unlike the Portuguese, who will measure forces with the Maritime.

The training based in Torres Vedras thus continues to initial a start of the sport season of 2026/27 ‘unspecified’... or near that. In the national championship, it takes six points in six possible, so it shares the leadership with Benfica and Sporting, while in the Europe Cup it has already left behind Kolos Kovalivka, for an aggregate result of 2-9.

The only ‘mouth amargo’, so far, has emerged in the Champions League, a competition from which Juventus was eliminated by 2-1 before guaranteeing ‘survival’ in international races, with a triumph over the Apolonia Fier, by category 5-2.

Sporting also goes to the game today

This Wednesday, at 5 p.m., it will be the turn of Sporting to enter the scene, in the first hand of the second elimination of the Europe Cup. In this case, there will be Brondby, at the Brondby Stadion, in Denmark, and the ‘telemas strip’ will be reserved for 7:45 next Wednesday at the Aurélio Pereira Stadium in Alcochete.

Like Torreense, lionesses also began the season in the Champions League, but, after a rounddown applied to SeaSters, by 5-0, they ‘fell’ before SKN St. Polten, in the tie for big penalties. In view of this scenario, Benfica has become the only Portuguese representative, in what is the largest competition of European football clubs.

The eagles settled directly for the league phase, with the status of national champions, and debuted, on Tuesday, in the best possible way, by overcoming the Juventus, in Torino, by 1-2, the ‘balleia’ of a ‘bis’ authored by Marit Lund (who deserved response from Alba Redondo, already in the final moments).
