O agent, who was following a vehicle from that federal immigration service, crashed into the man's car, went out and fired at least five times, said Mike Siegel, Austin District 7 representative.

So far, it is not known the health of the wounded, who was taken to a hospital, or his identity.

Congressman Greg Casar demanded an investigation and “immediate publication” of the images of the agents’ cameras in a message on his X page.

“ The horror has come to our city: the ICE shot a person in Austin this morning. I demand a complete and independent investigation, the immediate publication of the images of the body chambers and the accountability of any ICE agent who has broken the law ", wrote.

This case, and other recent violence involving federal agents, happens at a time when President Donald Trump's administration seeks to carry out its agenda of mass deportations, and arrests continue.
