A Tesla who can change the game in transport will arrive in Europe

Soon there will be a new Tesla in Europe. But this cannot be driven by everyone, since it is Semi – an electric truck, which will be presented regionally at IAA Transportation in Hannover in September.

Jis established in cars Tesla prepares to enter a new market segment in Europe. Already in September, will make the regional launch of Tesla Semi, the manufacturer's 100% electric truck.

The presentation will be at IAA Transportation in Hannover (Germany), scheduled for 15-20 September. At the time, the specifications of this heavy commodity will be known, which can change the game.

It is a more powerful and efficient vehicle than traditional trucks, according to Tesla – which promises “lower operating costs and better performance”.

This is in a mobility sector where electric motorizations are not as widespread as in light cars. In Portugal, until the end of July, 650 heavy electrics were registered, against 4.623 diesel, representing 12.2 percent of the total. In the case of light ones, electrices constituted 25.5 percent of total sales, adding 13.2 percent of plug-in hybrids and 24.7 percent of hybrids.

Outside, in the United States of America, Tesla's truck proposes an estimated autonomy for more than 800 km with fully charged trailer in the case of the 822 kWh (Long Range) battery, which can recover up to 60 percent of the power in about half an hour in a Megacharger (1,2 MW). In a 120 kW charger, you have to wait about four hours.

There is also a 548 kWh battery, for 520 km of autonomy (Standard Range). The specifications for this country point to 1,088 hp of power, provided by three independent electric motors on the rear axles.
