Oflights at Lublin and Rzeszów airports in Poland were suspended this Wednesday due to military activity in the framework of the war in Ukraine.
“ Due to the need to guarantee the freedom of operation of military aviation, Lublin and Rzeszów airports suspended flight operations,” wrote the Polish Air Navigation Services Agency (PANSA), in a shared publication on social network X (formerly Twitter).
About an hour after publication, the same agency eventually reported that the activity at both airports had already been reopened.
It should be noted that the Polish Armed Forces Operational Command also used social media to realize that air operations had been initiated in Polish airspace due to Russian attacks against Ukraine.
According to the Armed Forces, localized air defense systems were activated “on land and radar recognition systems were in a state of readiness,” but this was a preventive operation aimed at ensuring “security and protection of airspace, especially in areas adjacent to the areas under threat.”.
