A new york ball closed today aimlessly, with technological conglomerates suffering another vacancy of sales, in the context of low oil prices.

The result of the session shows that the Nasdaq technological ince retreated 1.07%, after having already lost 2.86% on Friday. Of the others, while the extended S&P500 decreased by 0.51%, the selective Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.41%.

“The renewed weakness of AI-related values (artificial intelligence) eclipses the positive effect” of the low oil prices, the analysts of Briefing point out. Com.

After a clear devaluation last week, the sector remained under pressure, with investors questioning the ability of the technological conglomerates to make huge expenses in the AI.

The most recent episode was the loss of the Oracle group by 8.85%, after announcing the intention to get 20 billion dollars by issuing shares and bonds to finance investments in the AI.

In turn, Marvell Technology, of semiconductors, suffers a strong fall of 12.72%, then announces the acquisition of Lumentum in the framework of infrastructure development of the AI.

These developments were reflected in Nvidia (-1.26%), AMD (-7.52%), Micron (-5.78), Alphabet (Google) (-0.30%) and Meta (-1.34%).

“ Investors are very nervous ", synthesized Joe Zidle, from Cresset. “This is explained by what we observed last week around the AI.”.

But, in his opinion, “part of this volatility is also accentuated by mid-term legislative elections” in the US, scheduled for Tuesday.

Several analysts point out that these elections may have repercussions on the values of AI, given the numerous debates around the construction of data centres needed for the development of this technology.

At the same time, Dow Jones members benefited from a rotation of investments outside the technology sector.
