A during the IFA technological fair in Berlin, the company announced the signing of memorandums of understanding with Ernst Dello, Autohaus Dinnebier, Emil Frey Germany, Fett & Wirtz Automobile, Hahn Automobile, LUEG Mobility, Penske-Jacobs Innovation and SPT Avior.
Xiaomi indicated, in a statement quoted by the EFE agency, that the agreements represent “the first step” to build its commercial and assistance network in Europe, and said that it plans to add new distributors in other countries of the continent as the planned launch for 2027 approaches.
Germany will thus be one of the first European markets in the automotive division of technology, which also has a research and development centre in Munich.
The company had confirmed in August that it would start selling its electric vehicles in Europe in 2027, after its founder and executive president, Law Jun, had previously indicated that high demand in China and production capacity limitations prevented anticipating international expansion.
Xiaomi entered the automotive sector in 2024 with the SU7 and later extended its range with the SUV YU7.
Since the beginning of the process, in March of that year, the company claims to have delivered more than 700,000 vehicles in China.
Technology, known mainly for its mobile phones and other electronic devices, set the goal of selling 550,000 vehicles in 2026, 34% more than in the previous year.
