O president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, today denounced a Russian drone attack on the site where rescue teams are following Monday's bombings at a Zaporijia underground school.
“ This morning, Russian forces attacked Komishuvaja with an FPV drone, a place where, seven days ago, emergency rescue operations took place following the impact of an air bomb that caused the death of 55 people,” the president wrote on his social networks.
“ Unfortunately, there may still be more people under the rubble. [It is] an act of absolute cynicism and brutality”, he said.
In addition, an attack on energy infrastructure occurred during the night in the Dnipropetrovsk region, which left more than 600,000 people without electricity in Dnipro.
The situation is also difficult in the eastern region of Kharkiv, said Zelensky, who further explained that there are widespread electricity cuts throughout the country.
In the Zhytomyr region alone, 140 residential buildings were left unheated following a Russian attack, he pointed out.
In total, according to the president, only during the last week, Russia launched 115 different types of missiles against Ukraine, about 1,900 guided air bombs and over 3,000 attack drones.
These are combined attacks that include numerous ballistic missiles. In addition, a significant part of these missiles was manufactured later this year, he said, and reiterated that “it is essential that sanctions be coordinated and applied throughout Europe and in the jurisdictions of the G7 countries.”.
“ We have a strong twenty-second package of EU sanctions against Russia,” said the Ukrainian President.
