The Ukrainian President said today that his country is open to participate in a “technical meeting” with the United States and Russia, which could take place at the end of October in the United Arab Emirates or another country.

“ O american side is in contact with Ukraine and Russia and proposes a trilateral meeting in technical format at the end of October. I confirmed it yesterday. (...) We are open”, said Volodymyr Zelensky.
This statement took place at a press conference in Kyiv, alongside German Chancellor Friedrich Merz.
This meeting may take place “in the United Arab Emirates or in another country suggested by the American side,” added the Ukrainian Head of State during the German leader’s visit.
“ We reacted positively to the negotiations,” Zelensky noted, adding that it awaits Russia’s position.
The proposal to hold this trilateral technical meeting follows the latest attempts by the United States to resume mediation between the parties in conflict.
In early September, White House envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff, who lead the negotiations to put an end to the Russian-Ukrainian war, visited Kyiv to meet Zelensky, a meeting that will have ended without any progress towards peace.
