Min two boys, Matias and Sebastião, Julia Belard does not rule out the possibility of increasing her family with her husband, Francisco Servulo Correia.
The actress was present at the celebration of the 30 years of Natura, an event that took place in Lisbon, on September 23, where the brand presented the new collection.
In conversation with News to Minutes, Julia Bellard started by saying that “it is not the most consumer women there is”, and that she always tries to “give a lot of clothes” to people who “are in need”.
Still with regard to clothing, the actress also said that "he took advantage of everything from the first child to the second".
Speaking of the boys, Mama confided that returning to school is always a delicate phase, especially this year that was the first time her youngest son, Sebastian. And he did not fail to confide in the desire to be a mother again, although his last pregnancy was very striking. The mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer and “was dying” while the actress raised her second child.
During the interview, she also spoke about her career as an actress and her presence on social networks, confessing that she liked to have the opportunity to return to work in the world of representation.
I suffer a lot and it's something that causes me a certain anguish. So I also try to choose schools that are closer, that still accept a slow adaptation
How's the kids adapting to school?
For the first time my little boy got into school, I just picked him up because he only stays until lunchtime. The teacher already told me he went in for a little nap and said he cried a lot. And in the morning, she cried enough to go. I still said: “Mom, but I already went yesterday.” And tears flowed.
I must admit, it's something that really costs me. I really do! I suffer a lot and it's something that causes me a certain anguish. So I also try to choose schools that are closer, that still accept a slow adaptation – I could still be there with him for a few days, because just drop out and go I can't.
Even though the second experiment was equally harsh?
Yeah. I thought it was gonna be super different, but it's really hard anyway. Just this morning I had a warm heart, almost crying. I'm in agony. It costs me a little bit, but I know it's part of it and then they'll be fine.
Now I don't even know how opportunities work. I see more and more young, beautiful girls coming, and sometimes I feel like there's no room, there's no room for me. We know that in Portugal unfortunately the industry is small
He's been very present on social media, but not on television. Do you like this new direction of your life or would you like to have other opportunities?
I really like this path and I think I'm lucky to be able to do this, and I really like it. And now that my kids are growing up a little bit more, let's see if I suddenly don't have another one and it all goes back to the same. But now I feel like I'm a little bit more ready for this. And it's something I really like to do that combines a lot of things I've always liked to do. Being able to write the script, therefore, has this part of being a writer to be able to represent a little and then also the part of the edition, which gives me great pleasure.
Now, what I feel is that, although we have these events, it's all very from home. Sometimes I miss that trip to the studio, to be there with my colleagues, to be there with the makeup team. We had a lot of fun. I miss this dynamic and acting. I feel like it was a way to channel my emotions a little bit and reorganize myself. And I feel like I'm not that easy to do that. I miss you, of course.
But at one point did you stop betting on your acting career or was it the lack of opportunities?
The first few years were my decision, because I decided to be a full-time mother. These days I live in a little duality. I'm very grateful and I love my life, but I often miss the theater, because I think it's something that's very much in me, that runs in my blood and that I really want and miss doing it. If an opportunity arose, I would be very, very happy. I'm not chasing, no, but..
I just moved out of the agency. I'm heading for the acting department, which means I'm starting to make myself available. Now I don't even know how opportunities work. I see more and more young, beautiful girls coming, and sometimes I feel like there's no room, there's no room for me. We know that in Portugal unfortunately the industry is small, the actors are always the same, but I have also been part of this range of actors. And I'd love it if an opportunity came along.
What's the project you hold most dear?
Vaccilum between two. The “Horns with Sugar”, because they were my first project and it was very impactful, so it was very special. We were all young, teenagers and suddenly we're living that... It's a very striking thing and it's really... wow! And travel. That was really spectacular.
But then I do the “Let It Take You”, which was a really cute novel, I did Grace, who was a maid, was in Arcos de Valdevez, we made many trips. We had a group of super cute actors, and we had a lot of fun, and I have really good memories of that soap opera.
I love being pregnant, but it's a delicate phase for me. The last pregnancy was a really hard time of my life. My mother was dying
He just said, “Let’s see if a third child comes.” So raising the family isn't out of the picture either?
It's not out of plan, no. It's a duality. I feel really good right now. Back to zero, I know it's ruining it a little bit again. On the other hand, I'm going to be 38, I don't have much more time to have children and it also costs me a day to look back and think, "Oh, I haven't.".
I'm not much for waiting for things, I follow my urges. But I'm also not impulsive in the sense of doing it just because
Do you feel this pressure that women have a “validity”?
I'm sorry and I think it's very unfair. Men, with age, can always have children, age and remain charming. If you have to date younger girls..
Adopting a child is also something I'd like, but my husband doesn't. I love being pregnant, but it's a delicate phase for me. The last pregnancy was a really hard time of my life. My mother was dying. So I also have a little weakness associated with pregnancy – it takes me to a place of vulnerability. I stay at this dead end but I like to believe that somehow the universe is leading me and I'll know what's right at the right time.
Would you rather wait for what the universe has to give you?
I'm not much for waiting for things, I follow my urges. But I'm also not impulsive to do it just because I am. I have to get my head organized. I follow a little my gut, which is probably often wrong.
And what plans or projects do you have for the coming time?
I've got a lot of campaigns going on with a lot of brands, a lot of events too, and I always have this desire to have something of my own, to create a brand, anything. But not a thought. It's an idea for later.
