According to Osceola County police, the woman Irene had hired to take care of the children in her absence was responsible for putting them in and picking them up from school. The woman arrived at 8:00 and left the children at home at 4:00.

Irene Miller, mother of four children, was detained at the airport after leaving her children, aged 9, 11, 12 and 14, alone at home during a work trip. One of the children called 911 after an accident, which led to the intervention of the authorities.
The woman went away for a few days and everything was normal until a dumbbell fell on her youngest son's head when he rode a fort inside the house. In a panic, the 11 and 12 year olds decided to call 911, the moment the truth was discovered.
The police say the children were well treated and there was no shortage of food at home, but when they realized they were alone, the alarms sounded.
50-year-old Irene Miller was arrested last week after her children called 911.
The police were called to the scene and eventually contacted Irene who revealed that she had left the house on October 18 on work and that she intended to return five days later.
