Dand according to the final decision, released today on the official website of DGArtes, the programming contest of the Project Support Program 2025, to be realized this year, had 216 applications, 71 of which will be supported with a total of 1,885,000 euros.

Of the 145 applications that were left unsupported, the large majority (110) will not receive any money because “the overall amount available has been exhausted”.

In addition, seven applications were not supported because they were below 60% minimum score required and 28 for other reasons.

Of the 71 projects supported, 47 are music, 12 theater, six dance, four street arts and two circus.

In geographical terms, 21 projects are from Centro, 17 do Norte, 14 da Grande Lisboa, five from the West and Tagus Valley, four from the Algarve, three from the Alentejo, three from the Autonomous Region of the Azores, two from the Setúbal Peninsula and two from the Autonomous Region of Madeira.

Among the projects supported are, for example, the edition of 2027 of the Festival A Porta, in Leiria, this year's edition of the Semibreve Festival, scheduled for October, in Braga, the 18th Festival of Arts Quebrajazz, which will take place next year, in Coimbra, this year's edition of the Festival Clarão, which takes place in September, in Sintra, and the Summer Nights 2027 of the publisher Filho Único, in Lisbon.

Supported projects take place until February 28, 2028, “with activities that include receptions, coproductions and artistic residences, and may also integrate complementary activities in the areas of national circulation, creation, internationalization, training, strategic mediation, editing and research”.

DGArtes opened, at the end of January, the competitions of the 2025 Project Support Programme – which includes this programme support – with a total allocation of €13.35 million, the same value of 2023 and 2024.

The deadline for submission to this competition – and to all of the Project Support Program 2025 – was until March 12, but it was extended until April 2, taking into account the consequences of the bad weather recorded at the beginning of the year, which affected the artistic sector, especially in the Center region.

The organisations representing the Culture sector have repeatedly warned of the delays in the opening of DGArtes competitions and their underfunding.

When last year the results of the Project Support Program competitions were revealed, dozens of structures were again out of funding, although they were considered eligible for support, as had happened in previous years.

This year, the final results of the Internationalization contest were also published, in which 115 projects were supported, with 41 remaining unsupported for having exhausted the available funding, although they had a final score above 60%.
