O Athletic Bilbao was now closer to the places of access to European national football competitions in the Spanish Football League, winning at the reception to Real Sociedad (2-1), in the Basque duel of the 11th round.

The Ganese Iñaki Williams (14 minutes) and Alex Berenguer (45+2), penalt, made the goals of the hosts, among the Croatian attempt Luka Sucić (30) in favor of visitors, for which the Portuguese Gonçalo Guedes was holder.

Athletic won the second consecutive round and consolidated seventh place, with 15 points (less than one game), to four of Real Sociedad, fifth ranked, which came from four triumphs for the championship and will face the Torreense on the sixth and penultimate day of the League Europa league phase.

Between the two Basque clubs continues Seville, sixth, with 17 points, and defeated with twist in the visit to Getafe (3-1), 12th, with 12, in a duel in which the Portuguese Felix Correia served the goal of Kike Salas (19 minutes).

In the last half hour, the Turkish Enes Ünal (68 minutes), Uruguayan Martín Satriano (73) and Belgian alternate Orel Mangala (90+4) dictated the release of Andalusians, who still saw Manuel Bueno expelled (90+1) and left Portuguese Fábio Cardoso in the bank, but remain in a European zone.

Earlier, Real Madrid, trained by Luso José Mourinho, won out the Racing Santander (3-0) and reached the fourth triumph followed for the championship, with goals from Frenchman Kylian Mbappé (11 minutes), penalti, Englishman Jude Bellingham (21) and the coast-marfinense Yan Diomande (36).

The victory contrasted with the turbulent week lived by the club of the capital, after Mbappé and the president of the Spanish League, Javier Thebes, apologized for comments in which the French spearhead had alluded to Mao Tsé-Tung, founder of the People's Republic of China, as a dictator, despite not mentioning any politician in that country.

Chinese state television suspended the Spanish League broadcasts and withdrew advertisements and videos starring Kylian Mbappé, whose commercial partnerships with some local companies were terminated.

The Portuguese Bernardo Silva played at first for Real Madrid, which came from a triumph in the field of the two-time FC Barcelona (2-1), in the classic of the 10th round, and remains in third position, with 27 points, against 30 of the Catalans, isolated leaders, and 28 of the city rival Atlético de Madrid, ‘vice’.

With Luso André Almeida released in the final minutes, Racing lost for the first time at home and went down to the 16th position, with 11 points.

The demotion zone is formed by Levante, 18th, with 10 points, and commanded by Portuguese Luís Castro, Valencia, 19th, with nine, after returning to victories in Elche (1-0), and Málaga, 20th and last, with five.

A goal by the Nigerian alternate Umar Sadiq allowed Valencia to start winning the fourth meeting under the guidance of Mexican Javier Aguirre, while Luso Martim Neto did not go for Elche, 17, with 10 points.

The 11th day of the Spanish League closes on Monday, with the reception of the Coruña Deportivo to Osasuna, and each match has been preceded by a minute of silence, in memory of the victims of the railway accident that occurred on Wednesday in Urda, which has already caused 69 deaths.
