Chamusca athlete hospitalized after violent aggression at the stake of INATEL

Rui Nalha, captain of the Sports Union of Chamusca, was transported, on Sunday afternoon, to Santarém Hospital, after being brutally assaulted by an opponent, in the head, in a game of the Santarém INATEL Championship.

The player, 31 years old, will have been attacked in the final minutes of the meeting with the Sports Union of Malachejo.

In a note shared on social networks, the Sports Union of Chamusca, which identifies the opposing goalkeeper as the aggressor, writes that the same athlete assaulted “in a barbaric way” Shroud with “several kicks in the head when it was lying on the floor.”

Rui Shella was transported by ambulance and will “do deeper tests to miss some more serious injury.”

The match between UD Chamusca and UD Malachejo was interrupted immediately and the alleged aggressor was identified by GNR still in the stadium.

Malachejo reacts and denies assaults of the goalkeeper

At the end of Sunday night, the Malachejo Sports Union reacted to these incidents. The amateur club confirms that several members of its squad helped Shell, as well as members of the technical team, and denies that its goalkeeper was the aggressor.

“ The situation worsened with the entry of supporters of the house team in the playing field, creating an environment of insecurity that led the delegate of our team to request the arbitration team to close the meeting and the intervention of the authorities. In this sense, we want to acknowledge the position of the arbitration team and thank GNR for its intervention, which allowed us to guarantee the safe exit of our athletes, technical team and about 15 supporters, including older people and a one-year-old baby. It should also be noted that during the assistance provided to the opposing captain, elements of our technical team, namely our coach and masseuse, were present and followed the situation, demonstrating that, even in the most difficult moments, respect for human integrity must prevail”, continues the extensive note.

“ With regard to the charges against our goalkeeper, the athlete contests all charges against him. The Malachejo Sports Union is of the opinion that it is up to the competent authorities to examine all the elements and determine the responsibilities, without prior trial. We condemn any form of violence, regardless of who practices it or the colors it represents. We do not seek to excuse incorrect behaviour, but we cannot accept that a situation with several actors and different events is reduced to a single version.
