Sin addition to the information advanced by the British Financial Times, the new cuts add up to around 11,000 jobs already eliminated by WPP since the beginning of 2025, in a process that also includes the sale of non-strategic business and surplus assets.
The restructuring takes place in an advertising market affected by the impact of the AI and the reduction in the volume of contracts, according to the British newspaper.
WPP had 97,338 employees on 30 June, and according to sources cited by the Financial Times, the company also intends to divest one of the three buildings it owns in London, UK.
In the accounts for the first half, WPP recorded revenue of GBP 6,373 million (about EUR 7,432 million), less 4.4% compared to the same period of 2025.
Despite the negative development of revenue, the company maintains the expectation of an improvement in growth during the second half of the year, predicting that the overall operating margin of the fiscal year will be between 12% and 13%.
