O californian prosecutor Rob Bonta specified a case on the back of her state, but New Yorker Letitia James leads seven states seeking to block Trump's government's intention to end the development of this energy on the coasts of New York and New Jersey.
These two states were joined by Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Vermont.
The intention to cancel the projects in these States, to be implemented, will imply compensation of 1.4 billion dollars.
In total, Trump's government has already booked four billion dollars to compensate for the cancellation of these projects in the country.
James considered the Executive's actions illegal and stated that in the end they will increase the citizens' electricity bill by sabotaging the states' capabilities in responding to increased energy demand.
By his ado, Bonta pointed out that as a national and international leader against global climate disruption, California is entangled in “avoidable and unnecessary battles with the federal government itself” to advance climate action and change to clean energy.
