Anaiis made himself known in 2009 with Extended Play (EP) “Before Zero” and the following year he edited his first album, “Darkness at Play”.
Of French, Senegalese and Italian descent, Anaiis was born in Toulouse, France, but grew up between Dublin, Dakar, Oakland, New York and London, where he currently lives.
The writing option of her artistic name in tiny – anais – is a tribute to bell hooks, alias of the philosopher and American writer Gloria Jean Watkins (1952-2021).
The composer reflects in her music the experience of being in several places at the same time. In 2020 he visited Salvador da Bahia, through a British Council scholarship, where he met Brazilian singer Luedji Luna, with whom he recorded “All Color”, a song sung in Portuguese and emerged in the context of the joint project anais & Grupo Cosmo.
The artist's first tour begins on 23 February in Copenhagen, ending on 24 March 2027 in the British capital, 14 days after acting in Lisbon.
The tour refers to its latest album, “Devotion & the Black Divine” (2025), which followed new singles such as “Sunshine” and “P4P”
“Devotion & the Black Divine” was distinguished as Album of the Year by publications, platforms and radio stations such as The New Yorker, Apple Music, BBC6 and Wordplay Magazine.
Anaiis has stepped, among other stages, Barbican and TEDxLondonWomen at the Southbank Centre in London.
The singer also shared poster with Erykah Badu and Nick Hakim, opened Daniel Caesar's British tour, and was part of Mereba's American tour.
Tickets for the concert in Lisbon are in pre-sale from 10 a.m. on Thursday's See Tickets platform, and can be purchased by the general public from the following day, 24 hours later.
