Study center prepares students from Vila Velha de Ródão for exams

A Câmara de Vila Velha de Ródão will create a study center for students in the 9th grade of primary and secondary education, which aims to provide them with tools to ensure success in national exams.

This pilot project aims to meet the needs of students in the 9th grade of basic education, in particular, with regard to the consolidation of subjects and preparation for national examinations in the disciplines of Mathematics and Portuguese.

Regarding secondary school students, support is directed towards overcoming difficulties and preparing for national examinations in the disciplines of Portuguese, Mathematics/MACs and Physical-Chemical.

The project is promoted by the municipality of Vila Velha de Ródão, in the district of Castelo Branco, in partnership with the Association of Parents and Education Officers of the Local School Group.

“ It is a strategic partnership that aims to strengthen local socio-educational support, functioning as a high school performance valence aimed at empowering students with scientific and methodological tools indispensable to the success and improvement of grades ", explained, in a statement, the mayor of Vila Velha de Ródão.

António Carmona added that the measure is part of the municipal strategy to combat school failure and promote equal opportunities, in particular as regards access to higher education.

The study center will operate in the premises of the Group of Schools of Vila Velha de Ródão, with the direct administrative, logistical and pedagogical management of the space to the Association of Parents and Education Officers, entity responsible for the selection and hiring of the necessary teachers to ensure the ratios and quality of education.

The planned expenditure on teaching staff, educational resources and day-to-day management of the centre will be provided by the municipality.
