Varias members of the Ajuda, including the MPs Rita Matias and Madalena Cordeiro, invaded this morning the studio of Radio University of Coimbra (RUC), in protest against the prohibition of the Academic Association of Coimbra from entering the building.
In the studio of RUC, which is located in the building of the Academic Association of Coimbra (AAC), a new political debate program was held this morning, in which the various partisan youths of the parties with seats in the Assembly of the Republic would participate.
The Aquida had also been invited to participate in the new program, but at a distance, in the face of the decision, approved in the Magna assembly in February, of a ban on participation of the party led by André Ventura in events of the AAC and of entry into its premises, told Lusa Jaime Raposo of the Information Department of RUC.
“ As a matter of equality and to ensure that all the parties would be present, it was given the possibility to Enough to participate digitally ", said he received, on Sunday, a communication from the district leader, Paulo Seco, to say that the party would not be present in the program, for not agreeing to his participation digitally.
During today's debate, in which elements of Livre participated, JS, JSD and IL, the program ended up being interrupted, when they entered the studio, live, several elements of Cázima, led by Rita Matias, told Jaime Raposo.
“ We ignored the presence of Enough and continued the debate, but at some point Rita Matias took a microphone from the studio and I decided to cut the broadcast. Several members were recording everything with their phones, I asked them to stop recording and to leave the studio, but they said they would stay and they also wanted to participate in the program ", he recalled.
The elements of the Enough, including the two MPs, only left the studio when three PSP agents arrived, he said.
Jaime Raposo pointed out that the decision to enter the AAC building is not for RUC, but for AAC’s general directorate.
Contacted by Lusa, Ms. Rita Matias considered “offensive” the forms of participation of Aquisa in the weekly program promoted by RUC, saying that “it does not provide all members of party youth equal circumstances for the debate”.
“ It was in this sense that we physically moved here to demonstrate that not only can we be physically in the spaces, but we are available to debate ideas”, he said.
Rita Matias stated that she did not remove the microphone from any of the participants and that Aquida just wanted to “contribute to the debate”, considering that the AAC’s decision to ban entry into the building “is not democratic or even constitutional”. The decision was adopted in the House by an overwhelming majority (273 votes in favour, three against and 30 abstentions).
Rita Matias stressed that the struggle of the Aquist “does not stop here”, stressing that the party will continue to fight for participation “in equal circumstances with other political forces”.
According to the youth coordinator of Cávez, there were 17 party youth present in the invasion.
Rita Matias also stated that there was no “intention to remain on the radio and to usurp the possibility of making their normal broadcast”, stressing that they have nothing “against the radio in particular”.
“ What we really contest is the deliberation of the Academic Association ", said.
The agency Lusa sought clarifications from the president of the general director of AAC, José Machado, but without success so far.
