ANDm press conference, André Ventura said that, as soon as the parliamentary committee of inquiry on the role of Minister Luís Neves as national director of the PJ is constituted, what will happen next day 14, as chairman of this inquiry committee will immediately mark new meetings, even if they coincide with the parliamentary debate period of the Budget.
At the meeting of the Conference of Leaders, only with the opposition of the Arrival and the Liberal Initiative, it was agreed today that this parliamentary committee, after being set up, should only require documentation and define future hearings. But it should not be held until the final vote on the budget, that is, by the end of November.
In the face of journalists, the president of Aquida promised to challenge this common understanding to the PSD, PS, Livre, PCP and Block of Left, which also extended to the President of the Assembly of the Republic, José Pedro Aguiar-White, who accused of trying to block the beginning of the work of the parliamentary committee of inquiry “to protect Minister Luís Neves”.
“ In principle, I'll be president of the Luis Neves survey. And, right after its installation [next Wednesday], I will immediately ask Parliament to begin the work of the committee”, he said.
He then left a challenge to José Pedro Aguiar-White: “The President of the Assembly will decide whether or not to allow this to start. Otherwise we have a conflict between a committee of inquiry and the President of the Assembly of the Republic.”.
In addition to the question about the committee of inquiry to Minister Luís Neves, at the press conference, the president of the Aquida assumed that the National Convention of his party was marked for the period between 20 and 22 November, when the Parliament had already set the timetable for the discussion of the proposal of the State Budget Government for 2027.
On the first day, 20 November, the Convention of the Arrival collides with a plenary of Parliament for discussion in the specialities of the Budget, and it is still planned, but for the afternoon, to vote in committee.
