Nit took a long time for air Fryer to become a part of many people's lives. Besides being easy to use, it allows you to prepare healthier meals, since you do not use oil as a normal fryer.
One of the most boring parts in its process of use is to clean it up, especially after it accumulates fats and food residues.
Thus, as highlighted by an article on Martha Stewart's website, it is essential to clean it frequently.
How to degrease an air fryer: step by step
“ It is very important to degrease your air fryer, because it can accumulate residues of food, oils and fats very quickly,” explains cook Emmy Clinton. “This can affect cooking, cause bad odors in food and produce smoke.”.
Materials needed for cleaning:
– Degreasing detergent;
– Warm water;
– Sodium bicarbonate;
– white vinagre;
– Sponge or cloth;
– Gloves;
– Silicone cleaning brush (or an old toothbrush);
- Microfiber cloth.
Steps:
1. After using it, turn off air fryer and let it cool completely. Then remove all removable parts;
2. Fill the sink with warm water and soap. Leave the removable sauce parts for 20/30 minutes to release any inlaid fat;
3. Mix sodium bicarbonate with some water until you form a paste. Using rubber gloves, rub the sodium bicarbonate paste inside the air fryer. Avoid heating components;
4. Allow the paste to act for 10 to 20 minutes, or longer in very fat or dirty areas;
5. Spray the inside of the air fryer with white vinegar until the baking soda begins to boil. Sodium bicarbonate helps dissolve fat, while vinegar eliminates odors. Let it go for 10 minutes;
6. Gently rub the inside with a non-abrasive sponge or damp cloth. Use a plastic or silicone scraper, an old toothbrush or a nylon cleaning brush the most difficult access zones. Never use metal knives or tools;
7. Dry with a microfiber cloth before mounting the parts again.
Habits to prevent fat accumulation
– Clean air fryer whenever you use it. This means washing all the parts that come into contact with food with warm water and soap and cleaning the inside with a damp cloth;
– Avoid using oil or reduce quantities;
– line the interior with vegetable paper;
– Avoid using anti-stick sprays on air fryer.
