How to remove stains from wooden furniture: Natural tips

In the book ‘The Bible of the Secrets of Grandparents’ thousands of old household tips are given, which have been approved by grandparents. As far as wooden furniture is concerned, we highlight some.

Discoloration stains with coffee lees

Coffee lees are a solution for the teacup marks or a dish too hot. These have properties of dyeing wood, being even used in the restoration of furniture.

  • “Slowly massage the area with fresh coffee dregs, until the wood resumes initial coloring. To nourish the wood, you can add to the coffee dreg a teaspoon and linseed oil”.

Water or discoloration stains, with ash and food oil

  • “ Rub the area with a mixture of wood ash and food oil, thoroughly impregnation the wood. This also works very well with discolourations caused by a heat source in the mobile”.

Stains in waxed wood, with salt and olive oil

  • “Mix half a glass of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of thick salt. Apply on the spots, let it act 5 to 10 minutes and remove”.

Maintenance of waxed wood with coffee

  • “ Pass a cloth impregnated with coffee all over the surface. Let it dry. A furniture in acaju will shine if you pass it with a cloth soaked in water with hot vinegar. A walnut furniture glows with a milk cloth.

Stains in lacquered furniture with flaxseed oil and flour or tea

  • “Sweetly massage the area stained with blend of flaxseed oil and flour. Another recipe: prepare a strong black tea infusion and soak in it a cloth that will pass on the furniture. Shine with a second dry and soft cloth”.

Stains on a varnished furniture with olive oil and alcohol

  • Mix half a glass of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of sanitary alcohol and 1 tablespoon of terebentine essence. Gently rub the areas to treat and say goodbye to the stains!”

Important tip: use the correct cloth to clean your wooden furniture. Microfibers are suitable for varnished or lacquered wood. In the case of the painted woman, you can use an old shirt.
