Pthe link between three people close to the man who carried out a terrorist attack outside Paris on Friday was also arrested. The shooter's mother, identified Kevin T., is one of the detainees.
The information is advanced by the French publications that, citing the National Anti-Terrorism Attorney’s Office, realize that the suspect’s preventive arrest was also extended on Saturday morning.
According to publication Le Monde, the suspect, identified as Kevin T., 39 years old, claimed to have acted following the vandalism that is being committed in the country to shops and places of commerce, at a time when France is the scene of protests.
According to sources heard by the same newspaper, the man boasted of having “venge the merchants”.
The attack took place in Trappes and Yvelines and, according to the latest balance sheet, there was one fatal victim and five wounded, including a 12-year-old child.
On Friday, the French President said that this “attended racist terrorist” represents “a turning point in the country”, attributing it to the “environment of instability that certain speeches are creating”.
“It is a turning point, because it is the first time in our country that a terrorist act is committed to kill our countrymen, our children, just because of the color of their skin or their supposed religion,” Emmanuel Macron sustained during a visit to Trappes, a town about 30 kilometres southwest of the French capital.
Macron stressed that the racist character of the attack, the main line of investigation presented by the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (PNAT), is based “on what the suspect said in the first hours” after the arrest, by “taking up his act” as motivated by the “skin color” of the victims.
