Arrested for domestic violence caught on CCTV. “Mutual aggressions”

U45-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman were arrested by the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police (PSP), through the Vila Franca de Xira Police Division, this Friday, for the crime of Domestic Violence.

The agent “that was viewing the CCTV video surveillance system in the Vila Franca de Xira Police Station, reported via radio that two individuals – one male and one female – involved in mutual physical aggression” and, “before the information was transmitted, the police immediately moved to the site”, is indicated in a statement sent to the essays.

“On arrival at the site”, continues the PSP, “it was possible to intercept the actors at opposite points, both corresponding in full to the description transmitted”.

“ In the light of the police presence suspect began to utter aloud that the suspect had stolen his sneakers and his cell phone“. During the approach, the woman “informed that she had a relationship with the suspect, intending to cease it following the events. He declared having been assaulted and deprived of his goods, presenting an inconsistent discourse and a strong odor of alcohol ", is explained.

Then the police “approached the suspect, who claimed not to have assaulted her partner, claiming to have acted only in self-defense“. In possession of this “was the pair of sneakers belonging to the suspicion, proceeding with its immediate return”.

Already asked about the target’s phone, “the suspect took the device out of his pants pocket and handed it over. The same also confirmed the relationship and the intention to end it”.

Thus, and taking into account the facts found “as well as the direct visualization through the CCTV system of mutual physical aggressions”, it was given voice of detention to both the suspects.

The Public Security Police also highlights that, “already inside the precinct, both confirmed to have been involved in mutual physical assaults, and the suspect admitted to having thrown high on the suspect's face, while he admitted to having kicked, pushed and pulled hair“.

The detainees collected from the detention rooms of the Lisbon Metropolitan Command, where they await presentation of the first judicial interrogation in order to apply coercion measures.
