“ O the protocol aims to strengthen cooperation and covers “information actions, education, technical support, training programmes and joint submission of applications for programmes and funding lines”, among other activities, announced in a statement.
During the signing, by teleconferencing, on Tuesday, Eurydice Mascarenhas, president of CNDHC, alluded to the road accident on the island of Fire at the beginning of the month.
The disaster victimized 25 children and young people and showed “the importance of joining efforts to protect children’s rights”.
Manuel Ataíde Coutinho, president of the IAC, said that the partnership “allows to unite efforts and experiences”.
“ We can learn from each other and find ways to respond better to the challenges we face,” he said.
The CNDHC was established in 2004 and consists of representatives of various organizations, which meet ordinarily every three months.
The organization has focal points in all 22 municipalities of the archipelago, which act as intermediaries between the CNDC and the communities.
The IAC was founded in 1983 bringing together different professional areas – doctors, magistrates, teachers, psychologists, social service technicians, educators – and promoting national projects alongside local actions at different points in Portugal.
