O elon Musk's aerospace group has held since June the record of the highest initial public offer in history, with $85,7 billion (EUR 79.5 billion) in investment and reaching an assessment of $1,77 billion (EUR 1,64 billion), values that Anthropic "hopes to equal or overcome", reported Bloomberg.

According to the New York Times, the company’s banks talked to investors about a capture of “over 100 billion dollars (EUR 92.7 billion)” and a valuation of close to $2 billion (EUR 1.85 billion).

Such capitalisation, twice that achieved in May 965 billion dollars (895 billion euros), would put the company founded only five years ago on a level surpassed only by giants like Nvidia, Apple or Microsoft.

After a confidential deposit in June, Anthropic will be able to publish the documentation for the listing “in the coming weeks”, before a scholarship entry scheduled for autumn. Thus, it would surpass OpenAI, creator of ChatGPT, which postponed its quotation to 2027.

Founded in 2021 by former OpenAI employees, including brothers Dario and Daniela Amodei, startup stood out for prioritizing tools for programmers, such as assistant Claude Code, dominating the currently most profitable segment of the AI.

In the second quarter of this year, the company's sales more than doubled to USD 11.6 billion (EUR 10.7 billion), surpassing for the first time those of OpenAI (US$6.7 billion/6.2 billion).

However, the company remains heavily loss-making, with net losses of USD 42 billion (EUR 38.9 billion) in 2025, five times more than in the previous year due to massive investments in talent and data centres with millions of AI chips.

Anthropic’s high prices face pressure from Chinese free-access models, much cheaper, with OpenAI itself announcing a more than 20% reduction in the tariffs of its most powerful model, valid for three months.

Another risk for future shareholders is the tense relations with the administration of the American President, Donald Trump, who in March broke all contracts with the company, who refused to allow the Pentagon to use its models for mass surveillance or lethal autonomous weapons. The litigation is still ongoing in court.

Anthropic's revenue must have gone up at least... 14 times

US AI Anthropic's revenues are likely to have grown at least 14 times in the second quarter, on a homologous basis, to $11.5 billion (€9.9 billion), according to documents consulted by Bloomberg.
